Research in test scenarios for IoT devices, communication protocols and security/privacy.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is being implemented rapidly, making it necessary for all the mechanisms and characteristics of the Internet of the Future to be specially defined and tested/certified to meet the needs of large deployments covering different conditions. Furthermore, Security, Privacy and Trust are critical elements of the IoT, which can be a barrier to the deployment of this type of systems and the wide adoption of IoT technologies.

Therefore, effective solutions are needed that allow testing and certification of large IoT deployments, placing special emphasis on Security, Privacy and Trust. At the European level there are companies that research the area of Security and Trust of IoT Systems (especially SMEs), as well as Universities where there are even technologies available that have already been validated and work adequately in laboratories and/or in small-scale pilots.

ARMOR is a European H2020 Project whose objective is to provide solutions that allow spot testing, test fields and certification of large-scale IoT deployments, validating the Security, Privacy and Trust of new deployments. For this, it is proposed to update the current FIRE testbeds, equipping them with the appropriate technologies that allow experimental validation of the security and trust of new IoT systems.

OdinS offers its products and solutions for the deployment of said testbeds, actively participating to achieve the three main objectives of the project, which are:

Improve FIRE testbeds with the solution package that ARMOR proposes to ensure the security and reliability of long IoT deployments.

Propose methods and technologies that allow the testing and validation of large IoT deployments.

Define a framework that allows the design of secure and trusted IoT applications, and that establishes the certification scheme for the configuration of secure and trusted IoT solutions.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s H2020 Research, Technological Development and Demonstration Program under grant agreement no. 644852.
